About Me:

My name is Rachel Langford and I am currently studying nursing at Walla Walla University with hopes to become a Pediatric Nurse or Nurse Midwife. I am excited to share that I will be serving as a student missionary this year in Majuro, the capital and largest city in the Marshall Islands. I will be teaching 5th grade at Delap SDA which is a private co-educational K-12 Christian school operated by the Guam-Micronesia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. The past year has been quite crazy, and I am so blessed that this opportunity has presented itself. I look forward to the many new experiences that are before me, and I am very excited to document my time serving. Thank you all for the endless love and support as I take on this journey.

About Majuro:

Majuro is the capital and largest city of the Marshall Islands. It is also a large coral atoll of 64 islands in the Pacific Ocean. The atoll has a land area of 9.7 square kilometers and encloses a lagoon of 295 square kilometers and in 2011, the population of the island was 27,797. Delap SDA, where I will be teaching, is a private co-educational K-12 Christian school operated by the Guam-Micronesia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. It is located in Delap, on the island of Majuro, in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The school is located directly beside the Majuro Cooperative School and within 1,600 feet of the hospital and the capitol building. The school campus is home to a gymnasium/cafeteria building, the administration/high school building, and an elementary school building. The campus is also home to the Delap Seventh-day Adventist church, as well as living quarters for the faculty and staff of the school. Like much of the Marshall Islands, the school is located directly beside the Pacific Ocean.
